IELTS fees in Nigeria by provider

Figures come from IDP Nigeria's fee table and its live Lagos sessions, and from the British Council's dates, fees and locations page, whose session list showed the same prices. IELTS in Nigeria is on computer at a test centre; neither provider lists a paper-based or at-home option.

One discrepancy: the British Council's UKVI page still lists Life Skills at ₦285,200, while its live sessions and IDP both showed NGN 298,500. The price in the booking system is the one you pay.

How to pay in Nigeria

The British Council takes credit or debit cards in its online booking system, PayPal, and Klarna if you want to pay in instalments, which it says carry no added interest. You need a valid identity card or passport, valid on the booking date and on test day; if you are under 18, a parent registers for you.

IDP Nigeria bookings are made online through its booking system; the IDP pages we read did not list payment methods. Whichever provider you use, book only through the official sites, and remember that a missed transfer deadline costs a quarter of NGN 299,000.

PTE costs USD 165 in Nigeria, or a naira voucher from Pearson-approved resellers (PTE fee in Nigeria). Before paying for either test, take a free full IELTS mock test and check your likely band with the band score calculator.
