How much is the IELTS exam fee in Senegal?

The booking page offers three ways to pay: card or mobile money in the online registration system, cash at the British Council Dakar reception (ask for a receipt), or a bank transfer to its Ecobank Senegal account with your IELTS reference number and name on the slip, then emailing the receipt.

You need a valid passport or national ID card, uploaded when you book, and under-18s need written consent from a parent or guardian. IELTS is not recommended for anyone under 16.

Standard IELTS follows the British Council's Senegal cancellation and refund policy: 75% back if you cancel 15 or more days before the test, nothing within 14 days. You cancel in the Test Taker Portal. Illness, bereavement and other exceptional circumstances can be raised with the test centre before the test or up to two calendar days after it, never once results are out. The centre replies within seven working days, and refunds can take 4 to 6 weeks.

IELTS for UKVI and Life Skills follow the separate UKVI policy: cancel more than 14 days ahead for 75% back, within 14 days but more than two days ahead for 50%, within two days for 25%, and nothing on or after test day. A UKVI booking can be transferred only once, more than 14 days ahead, to a date within three months, and the centre may charge up to 25%. The British Council lists CEFR B2 for the UK Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visas: at least 5.5 in each of the four parts of IELTS for UKVI. B1 (4.0 in each part) still applies to people already on those routes before 8 January 2026 who are only extending (British Council). See IELTS for the UK Skilled Worker visa; nurses should also read IELTS for nurses in the UK.
