When do you get the Test Report Form?

The Test Report Form (TRF) is your official result, on paper or as an electronic eTRF; some countries now issue eTRFs for computer tests (ielts.org). IELTS Online results are electronic only, with no paper TRF (ielts.org IELTS Online). The British Council says computer and Online takers can download the eTRF 1–8 days after the test and no extra paper copy is issued (British Council).

Sending results: by post to up to five organisations free, with a fee for more; by IELTS Results Service e-delivery to as many organisations as you like (ielts.org). IDP India charges INR 350 for each electronic report beyond the first five (IDP India).

From 15 July 2026 TRFs carry the Ofqual logo and qualification title. Older TRFs stay valid; if yours was issued between June 2024 and 14 July 2026 you can request a redesigned copy free, and it does not reset validity (ielts.org).

How long do IELTS results stay available?

IELTS recommends treating a result as valid for two years. The British Council takes requests to send extra TRF copies within two years of the test (British Council), and if your centre has closed, ielts.org offers a paid replacement-TRF service for up to two years from the test date (ielts.org). How long the online portal itself keeps showing a score is not stated by IELTS, IDP or the British Council.
