British Council venues come from its booking system, which flagged all 12 for computer-delivered tests; its own dates and locations page mentions Muscat, Salalah, Buraimi and Rustaq. IDP venues come from its Oman centre finder. Both were read on 13 October 2026. Addresses and phone numbers are left out on purpose.

Where to take IELTS for UKVI, Life Skills and One Skill Retake
The British Council offers IELTS for UKVI in Muscat (UKVI page). On IDP's session lists, UKVI sessions (OMR 110) ran at its Muscat test room and Life Skills A1 and B1 (OMR 78, on paper) at its Al Madina Plaza office.
IDP marks four of its five Oman venues as offering One Skill Retake: its Muscat office, both Hawthorn venues (Muscat and Sur) and Muscat Training Institute. The British Council charges OMR 67 for it.

How to choose a centre in Oman
The fee is OMR 106 at every venue of both providers, so choose by distance and format. If you want to write by hand, IDP's Muscat test room and Hawthorn Muscat ran Writing on Paper sessions (OMR 117). Outside Muscat, the British Council covers Sohar, Salalah, Nizwa and Buraimi, and IDP covers Sur and Ibra.
