ISAE-SUPAERO accepted tests and scores
From the Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering page, which is taught fully in English, and an Advanced Master page such as Embedded Systems. Both pages give the same list and say the scores validate a B2 level.
| Test | Minimum score |
|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.0 |
| TOEFL iBT | 87 (4.5 on the new scale) |
| TOEIC Listening and Reading | 850 |
| TOEIC Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing | 785 |

No waiver for English-medium degrees
The FAQ answers a graduate of an English-speaking institution directly: the English test is mandatory. Only citizens of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States are exempt, so an Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepali or Nigerian graduate of an English-medium degree still needs a test.
For the Master in Aerospace Engineering the test must be less than two years old. For the Advanced Masters, only tests taken after 1 January 2023 are accepted. Online versions of the listed tests are accepted.
You can apply before you have a result if you provide proof of the date you plan to take the test. You are then admitted on condition that you pass it before classes start.

Programmes, rounds and checking your offer
ISAE-SUPAERO is a Toulouse aerospace engineering school. Its Advanced Master list includes Space Applications and Services, Embedded Systems, Aeronautical Engineering, Space Systems Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Business Transformation. The Master's page says the first application round for the Master in Aerospace Engineering runs through 27 November 2026, and that excellence scholarships go to candidates in that first round.
The Advanced Master FAQ lists a non-refundable €100 application fee and two letters of recommendation, one academic and one professional. The pages do not describe a pre-sessional English course.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your ISAE-SUPAERO programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where ISAE-SUPAERO publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
If you are close to the line, aim for a margin above it: one weak skill can miss the requirement even when the overall band clears it. Not sure where you stand? Take a free IELTS mock test and get a band for each skill.
