What IELTS score do you need for Jönköping University?

JU lists several ways to meet English 6 without a test. For readers in South Asia and Africa the useful ones are a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Science or Computer Applications (BEng, BTech, BSc, BCA) from a recognised Indian university, and a bachelor's degree from a recognised university in Botswana, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe.

A bachelor's degree with English as the main subject, upper secondary English equivalent to Swedish English 6, and 60 credits taught in English in the EU/EEA, Switzerland, Great Britain, Ireland, Malta, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica or English-speaking Canada also count. TOEFL and PTE results must be no more than two years old. Pakistani and Bangladeshi degrees are not on the list.

JU's pathway programmes accept IELTS Academic only and ask for less. Pathway Year English needs 5.0 with no part below 4.5. Pathway Semester English needs 5.5 (5.0). Pathway Semester General needs 6.0 (5.5). Pathway Year General, Business Semester and Engineering Year need 5.5 (5.0), and Engineering Semester needs 6.5 (5.5). Applicants who already meet the entry requirements for a JU programme are not eligible for the pathway, except for Pathway Summer. The pathway page also asks for a high school diploma, and the business and engineering routes need Maths 2a, 2b and 2c.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your JU programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.
