What TOEFL score do you need for KAIST?

For graduate applicants, scores must be valid as of the online application deadline; report them online with institution code 0195 and department code 99. The Home Edition is accepted, but iBT MyBest scores and scores from the Institutional Testing Program (ITP) are not.

For undergraduates, scores must be uploaded as a PDF and remain valid (within two years) as of the application deadline, with an earliest accepted test date set for each admission track.

On the graduate page, IELTS Academic needs 6.5, IELTS Online is accepted and One Skill Retake is not.

From the Fall 2027 graduate cycle, KAIST lets you request a waiver of the English test if you hold citizenship of, or physically completed a bachelor's-level degree in, listed countries such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. A separate list covers English-medium degrees completed in other named countries.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your KAIST programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
