What TOEFL score do you need for POSTECH?

Scores must be valid at the time of applying, and test scores released after the application deadline are not accepted. Request that ETS send the official report to POSTECH's admissions office with institution code 0329; department codes are not needed. Of institutional tests, only one organised by POSTECH is accepted.

In the same guide, IELTS needs 6.0.

TOEFL iBT score reports issued since January 2026 also carry a 1 to 6 band score alongside the 0 to 120 total; see our guide to the new TOEFL score scale. The page above gives only 0 to 120 figures, so that is what this guide reports.

A certificate of English as the medium of instruction, bearing the institution's seal and showing all courses were completed in English, can replace the test. Graduates of universities in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Great Britain, South Africa or the United States are exempt.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your POSTECH programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
