TOEFL iBT fee in South Korea
ETS's registration-fee page gives the fee once you select South Korea as your testing location, and lists the service fees below for every country. Read on 14 October 2026. ETS publishes one fee per location, with no separate price for the Home Edition.
ETS prices the test in US dollars for Korea; its fee page shows no won amount, so your card statement will depend on your bank's exchange rate. US$232 is below ETS's US$280 fee for testing in the United States.

TOEFL iBT Home Edition in South Korea
ETS's country list says the TOEFL iBT Home Edition is available in every listed location, and South Korea is on it. ETS's testing-options page calls it the same TOEFL iBT test you would take at a centre, taken at home and monitored online by a human proctor. Sessions run 24 hours a day, four days a week, and you must book at least 24 hours ahead.
You need a desktop or laptop (no tablets), a private room with the door visible on camera, and a phone as a second camera (Home Edition rules). If you have not checked in within 30 minutes of your start time, the test is cancelled without a refund (bulletin).

Rescheduling, cancellation and refunds
ETS's bulletin has a Korea-only refund rule: cancel within 7 days of registering and you get the full fee back (possibly as two 50% credits to your card). After that, cancelling at least 4 full days before the test returns 50%. Rescheduling costs US$69 and must also be done at least 4 full days ahead.
Changes are made in your ETS account or by phone, not by email, post or at the test centre. If you register within 7 days of the test you pay an express registration fee, and you cannot sit TOEFL more than once in any 3-day period. If ETS cancels a session, you can move it free or take a full refund.
| When you cancel (tests in Korea) | Refund |
|---|---|
| 0–7 days after you register | 100% of the test fee |
| 8 days after you register until 4 days before the test | 50% |
| 3 or fewer days before the test, or on or after it | None |
Score reports and the 1–6 score scale
The fee includes up to four official score reports to institutions you choose before 10 p.m. (test-centre time) on the day before your test (sending scores). Each report after that costs US$29 on ETS's fee page (its score-sending page still says US$25). Scores reach your ETS account about 3 days after the test and stay valid for 2 years (TOEFL score validity).
Since 21 January 2026, TOEFL iBT reports each section and the overall score on a 1–6 scale in half bands, aligned to CEFR levels; for a two-year transition the report also shows a comparable 0–120 total (ETS). See how the 1–6 scale works and convert a result with the TOEFL to IELTS converter.
Test centres and what TOEFL is used for from South Korea
ETS says nearly every listed location has TOEFL iBT test centres, but it shows centre addresses and dates only after you sign in to an ETS account, so check there for the cities near you.
ETS says TOEFL scores are accepted by more than 13,000 institutions in over 160 countries; universities in the United States are the best-known users (IELTS vs TOEFL for the USA). Check each university's own page for its current score, since many are still moving from 0–120 to 1–6. For Australian visas, the bulletin says only tests taken before 21 January 2026 and TOEFL iBT Australia are currently approved.
