What IELTS score do you need for Leeds Beckett University?

These course pages were read on 8 October 2026; none gives a PTE score. Duolingo is not on the main page; Leeds Beckett's Europe page accepts it for direct entry from European applicants only, at 105 to 115 for IELTS 6.0 (5.5) courses.

Leeds Beckett's India page accepts Class XII English only from CBSE or CISCE, for undergraduate and postgraduate entry; state boards are not listed. Its Nigeria page accepts WAEC and NECO, but not for courses needing IELTS 7.0 or above. The Nepal page lists IELTS only.

Leeds Beckett has no Pakistan or Bangladesh country page: the old addresses redirect or return not found, and neither country is in its country finder. It states no pause, so confirm with admissions. Medium of instruction letters are not mentioned; a degree from a majority English-speaking country can count, with a Naric statement.

Leeds Beckett's visa page asks you to pay at least 50% of your first-year tuition fees before a CAS, and says some applicants may be asked for 100%. Applicants living in India, Nepal, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka use a separate CAS request form. A university pre-CAS interview is not stated.

Leeds Beckett's online pre-sessional English, run by Study Group Digital Learning for offer holders, costs £2,800 for 6 weeks, £3,500 for 10 weeks and £4,200 for 12 weeks. For a 6.0 (5.5) degree, entry is from IELTS 5.5 with 5.5 in each skill, 5.0 with 5.0, or 5.0 with 4.5 respectively. The latest 6-week course runs 5 October to 11 November 2026.

For a Student visa, UK Visas and Immigration asks for English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study and B1 below degree level, per gov.uk. At degree level, gov.uk adds, your university can assess your English itself and may ask you to take a different test.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Leeds Beckett programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
