What IELTS score do you need for the University of Leeds?

Leeds writes every course requirement in IELTS and publishes the matching score for other tests. If your course asks more than the minimum, these PTE Academic rows apply:

Leeds accepts IELTS Academic and IELTS for UKVI (Academic) and says the test must be taken at a test centre; it does not mention IELTS Online, so confirm with Leeds before booking an at-home test. You must meet the requirement in a single IELTS test, or in a single test plus One Skill Retake. Results over two years old at your course start date are not accepted.

PTE Academic Online is not accepted. TOEFL iBT must be a single test taken at a test centre; Leeds does not accept MyBest scores or the Paper Edition. The Duolingo English Test is not on Leeds's list of accepted qualifications.

Leeds's Language Centre runs pre-sessional English courses, and you may be able to use one to meet your course requirement. If you need a Student visa for the pre-sessional, you need a Secure English Language Test unless you are eligible for a combined CAS. You do not need a SELT for the online pre-sessional.

The lowest accepted SELTs are IELTS for UKVI (Academic) 4.0 with 4.0 in each component and PTE Academic UKVI 43 with 43 in each component. The grade you actually need depends on the pre-sessional length and your degree.
