What IELTS score do you need for Louisiana State University?

If your native language is not English, or you were educated outside the US in a country where English is not the only official language, you must send TOEFL iBT, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo or Michigan English Test scores before your application is evaluated. The minimum has to come from a single test; the Graduate School does not recognise superscoring or MyBest scores. TOEFL and IELTS scores are valid for two years after the test date. You may be exempt with a bachelor's from an accredited US institution, a college degree from a listed country where English is the primary official language, or citizenship of a listed country. The list includes Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ghana, Ireland, Nigeria, New Zealand and the UK; India is not on it. With few exceptions, international students, including exempt ones, sit an English Placement Exam on arrival.

The scores for automatic undergraduate admission are TOEFL 550 (paper) or 79 (internet-based), IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 100. LSU's TOEFL code is 6373. You may be exempt with four years at a US high school, a US bachelor's, SAT EBRW 500 or ACT English 18, qualifying US transfer credit, or secondary or tertiary education in a country where English is the primary official language.
