What PTE score do you need for Munster Technological University?

The test must have been taken no more than two years before the start of your programme. You can apply without the certificate but must submit one if you get an offer. The page lists Pearson (PTE) without a note on online testing or an institution code, and says applications for September 2027 open on 1 November 2026.

Pearson's own PTE Core FAQ describes PTE Core as a general English test that is initially suitable only for work and migration routes to Canada, and says PTE Academic is the test accepted for university study.

For comparison, the same page asks IELTS Academic 6.0 with no section below 5.5 at Level 1 and 6.5 with no section below 6.0 at Level 2.

The Cork page does not list an MTU pre-sessional route. It notes that even if MTU does not require an English test from you, you may still need one for your visa, so check the requirements for your country.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your MTU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
