What PTE score do you need for University College Cork?

The postgraduate page says both test centre and online versions of PTE are accepted, with a two-year time limit. The undergraduate page says Pearson PTE results have a two-year limit, tests must be taken no more than two years before the programme starts, and scores must come from one sitting. Non-EU applicants to the College of Medicine and Health can use only IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, Cambridge or PTE Academic.

Pearson's own PTE Core FAQ describes PTE Core as a general English test that is initially suitable only for work and migration routes to Canada, and says PTE Academic is the test accepted for university study.

For comparison, the same pages ask IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each skill as the standard level, and 7.0 with 6.5 in each for programmes such as MSc Audiology.

Completing a pre-sessional course at the UCC Language Centre meets the requirement. Research applicants on a programme of at least two years who are close to the bar can be admitted with PTE 63 if one section is as low as 51 and the others are at 59, provided they take a UCC Language Centre course alongside their programme.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UCC programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
