NJIT's Duolingo rules
Graduate applicants show English with a qualifying score or an approved waiver. You do not need a test if you earned a bachelor's degree, associate degree or high school diploma in person at a US institution; online programmes do not qualify. Undergraduates with degrees from listed English-speaking countries are exempt. Neither page sets Duolingo subscores.
For comparison, the undergraduate page sets TOEFL at 4.0 (79 on the old scale), IELTS at 6.0 and PTE at 53, and the graduate page sets TOEFL at 4.0 (79), IELTS Academic at 6.5 and PTE Academic at 57.

If your Duolingo score is below NJIT's level
Neither page offers conditional admission or a pathway programme. Graduate applicants whose situation does not match the waiver rules are told to contact their admissions counsellor with supporting documents.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your NJIT programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
