Three ways to prove English

NYCU's application requirements give three routes. You can submit a test score that meets your department's guidelines; a certificate from your previous institution, department or adviser stating that your courses were fully taught in English; or proof that your nationality or previous credentials come from an English-speaking country such as the USA, Canada, the UK, New Zealand or Australia.

The medium-of-instruction route is not limited to particular countries, so a fully English-taught degree from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Nigeria can replace the test with the right certificate. The Global MBA also waives the test for bachelor's degrees from the USA, Canada, the UK or Australia.

Chinese, GMAT and timing

Chinese-taught programmes need TOCFL Level A2 or above instead. The College of Management requires a valid GMAT, and the Global MBA also asks for at least one year of work experience. NYCU's fall application window for international students runs from 20 December to 15 March, according to the Global MBA and IPMC pages.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your NYCU programme page and in your admission decision, so check it there before you book a test.
