Waivers, entrance tests and a faculty discrepancy
The requirement can be waived if your previous studies were completed fully in English, with the qualification documents (your high school diploma, or your undergraduate degree for a graduate programme) originally issued in English. Every school-leaving document must be notarised, even when the original is in English.
The Kandó Kálmán Faculty's admissions page still shows IELTS 5.0 for BSc and 5.5 for MSc, against 5.5 for both on the central page, so confirm with the International Education Office if you hold a 5.0. That faculty also sets entrance tests in Mathematics and Physics and a personal interview on Microsoft Teams. Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Óbuda University programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.
