Validity, teaching assistants and the IELTS comparison
Undergraduate English scores must be less than two years old at the start of the term you apply for. For graduate admission, Duolingo must include subscores. For applicants awarded a graduate teaching assistantship, Oregon State sets speaking minimums for TOEFL and IELTS but says a Duolingo speaking minimum "has not been determined". Admission with GTA funding on Duolingo is reviewed case by case.

If your Duolingo score falls short
Undergraduates can enter through the Undergraduate Pathway: 90 for the three-term version and 75 for the four-term version. Graduate applicants below 110 fall into the Transitional Admission Program (TAP) range.
