How Pratt handles TOEFL scores

Neither level accepts MyBest scores. Undergraduate scores must come from a test taken within two years of your intended start term; for Fall 2027, tests taken on or after August 2025 count. Graduate scores must be valid within two years of the intended start. Send scores electronically to code 2669, allowing several weeks for them to arrive.

For the architecture programmes, other tests are converted to TOEFL equivalents to decide who needs an interview.

For comparison, the undergraduate page sets IELTS Academic at 7.0, and the graduate programmes ask for 6.5 to 7.5.

If your TOEFL score is below Pratt's level

Graduate waivers are available for applicants who hold, or are within two years of completing, a degree from a regionally accredited US institution or a 100% English-medium school of equivalent standard, for citizens of a country with English as a national language whose first language is English, and where a department judges your English acceptable through interview. Undergraduates may request a waiver after the last three years of high school in the US or at an English-medium school in a country where English is an official language.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Pratt programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
