The PTE Core scores to check
CLB 7 on IRCC's PTE Core table starts at reading 60, writing 69, listening 60 and speaking 68. Writing and speaking have the highest thresholds, so a score of 65 looks safe overall but is CLB 6 in speaking (59-67) and in writing (60-68).

Retake PTE Core and focus on the weak skill. Or check whether a lower-threshold route fits your work history: CEC with TEER 2 or 3 experience, Federal Skilled Trades, or a pilot such as the Atlantic Immigration Program.

Can IRCC average my PTE Core skills to reach CLB 7?+
No. Minimums apply to each ability. IRCC's averaging tool is only for candidates who could not complete a section because of a disability.
What PTE Core speaking score is CLB 7?+
68 to 75.
Do I still get CRS points for a CLB 6 skill?+
Yes: 9 points single or 8 with a spouse for that skill.
Can I enter the Express Entry pool with one skill at CLB 6?+
Only if you are eligible for a programme that accepts it, such as CEC with TEER 2 or 3 experience or Federal Skilled Trades.
