Where can I take PTE in Ethiopia?

With one centre, dates close to a deadline can be scarce, so book well ahead and use the free reschedule window (more than 14 days before the test) as your buffer. If you travel from another region, plan to arrive the day before.

IELTS is also only in Addis Ababa, so the choice between the tests comes down to what your university or visa accepts, how you want to pay (PTE by card in dollars, IELTS by bank deposit in birr) and which format suits you. One warning for nurses: the NMC accepts only IELTS Academic and OET, so PTE cannot be used for UK nursing registration, even though PTE Academic UKVI works for UK visas. Compare the options in OET vs PTE for nurses.

To book, create a myPTE account, choose the test, pick a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, and pay. Pearson accepts American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa, and a voucher or promo code is entered at the payment step (Pearson booking guide). Your account name must match your passport exactly; it can be corrected up to 3 days before the test, never on test day, and a mismatch means no test and no refund.

Fees and refund rules are in PTE exam fee in Ethiopia. Take a free PTE mock test before you choose a date.
