What Duolingo score do you need for Purdue University?

Undergraduate results must be from a test taken within the past two years. Self-reported scores can be used for review, but if you are admitted and accept, official results must come from your DET account to Purdue University Undergraduate Admissions. Test results may also be used for English course placement when you enrol.

The graduate office accepts only the integrated subscores (Production, Literacy, Comprehension, Conversation), not the separate Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening subscores. A DET score must be no more than two years old when OGSPS receives the recommendation for your admission. Send results to Purdue University Graduate Office.

For comparison, the undergraduate page says applicants generally have IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each section, and OGSPS sets IELTS 6.5 overall with Reading 6.5, Listening 6.0, Speaking 6.0 and Writing 5.5.

OGSPS also accepts proof that you have met the exit requirements of one of the intensive English language programmes it lists. Undergraduates admitted without a formal English test may have to take an English placement exam on enrolment, and transfer students can use 24 or more transferable credits from an accredited US college with a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Purdue programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
