What PTE score do you need for Tampere University?

Both pages accept PTE Academic and PTE Academic Online, say PTE scores are valid for two years after the test date, and ask you to give your Score Report Code (SRC) on the application and upload the certificate. For 2027 entry, master's scores must be valid at least until 7 January 2027 and bachelor's scores until 21 January 2027. PTE Core is not mentioned.

For comparison, the master's page asks IELTS Academic 6.5 with no section below 6, and the bachelor's page asks 6.0 with 5.5 in writing.

Pearson has discontinued PTE Academic Online for new bookings, so plan on a test-centre PTE Academic sitting even where this page still lists the online version. See can you take PTE at home.

Tampere University only exempts applicants based on the previous studies it lists, such as upper secondary education or a degree taught in English in Finland, another EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, the UK or the US. The language of instruction must be stated on an official document.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Tampere University programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
