What IELTS score do you need for Texas State University?

Graduate applicants submit TOEFL, TOEFL Essentials (8.5), PTE, Duolingo or IELTS scores. Some programs set minimum TOEFL section scores, MyBest scores are not accepted, and minimums must be met in a single exam. These scores determine regular admission; other admission routes are not stated by Texas State.

A degree from an accredited institution in a listed country, such as Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore or the UK, exempts you, except for teacher and professional certification programs. Texas State is explicit that the exemption excludes "applicants whose only degrees were earned from a university in India", along with Nepal, Cameroon and Zimbabwe. See the Graduate College.

Undergraduates use IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each section, TOEFL 4 with 4 in each section (78 before the update), Duolingo 105, PTE 52, SAT EBRW 520, ACT English 21, iTEP 3.8, Cambridge 176 or a listed school-leaving grade. Graduates of an accredited US high school with three years of regular English, and applicants from the exempt country list, also qualify; India is not on that list. See international requirements.
