What Duolingo score do you need for UAB?

Both pages say UAB only accepts English scores taken within a two-year period from the date the application was submitted, and that older scores are expired. The graduate page says to contact the testing agency to have official scores sent to the UAB Graduate School. Neither page sets Duolingo subscores or mentions teaching assistantships.

For comparison, the same pages set IELTS at 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each section for undergraduates and 6.5 for the Graduate School.

Neither page offers a conditional or pathway route for a lower Duolingo score. Undergraduates who attended a US high school for at least two years, or who have at least 24 semester hours of transferable credit from a US college, do not need to submit an English score.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UAB programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
