Ulster London course-page levels
QA's entry requirements page says each course page sets the English level. The course pages read for this guide all ask IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5, from the BSc (Hons) Global Business to the MSc Computer Science and Technology and MBA. The Extended MSc programmes, which take third-class or ordinary degrees, ask the same.

The QA pages link to Ulster's English language requirements it accepts IELTS Academic Online and the One Skill Retake, PTE Academic (UKVI or not) at 59 with 59 in each part, but not PTE Academic Online, Duolingo 110 with no subscore below 100 (tests from July 2024), LanguageCert Academic 65 with 60, and TOEFL iBT 80 (L17 R18 S20 W17) before 21 January 2026 or 4 with 4 in each skill after.
Tests must be from the last two years. The QA Higher Education English Language Test, mapped to IELTS, is valid for one year, and Oxford ELLT for 18 months but not for students from Bangladesh or Pakistan.

State boards and the visa
Ulster's main list accepts Standard XII English at 70% from CBSE or ICSE and from the Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal state boards, but the London course pages name CBSE and ICSE only. If you studied on a state board, confirm with QA before relying on Class 12.
For a Student visa, UK Visas and Immigration asks for English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study and B1 below degree level, per gov.uk. At degree level, gov.uk adds, your university can assess your English itself and may ask you to take a different test.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Ulster University London programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
