What Duolingo score do you need for the University of Bath?

For tests taken up to 1 July 2024, the undergraduate pages use the older subscores: Category B needs 130 with Literacy 130, Comprehension 140, Conversation 125 and Production 110, and Category C needs 120 with Literacy 120, Comprehension 130, Conversation 115 and Production 100.

Any test you use must have been passed no more than 24 months before your course starts. Postgraduates can apply before taking a test, and an offer will be conditional on meeting the English requirement; if you defer, your result must still be valid for the new start date.

For comparison, the Category B page sets IELTS at 7.0 with 6.5 in each component and the Category C page at 6.5 with 6.0 in each component.

Both undergraduate pages say you may be able to take a pre-sessional English course to reach the required level, and the postgraduate page links to Bath's pre-sessional programmes. Postgraduates with a degree from a UKVI-recognised majority English-speaking country may be exempt; see the page for the time limits.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Bath programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
