What IELTS score do you need for the University of Bath?

Bath's postgraduate taught English requirements page gives three levels; your course page says which applies. IELTS for UKVI and IELTS Academic, including One Skill Retake, are accepted at a test centre or online. PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Academic are accepted, but not the PTE Academic Online test.

Master's applicants must have passed their test no more than 24 months before the course starts. The two Euromasters courses accept only IELTS or TOEFL, not Duolingo.

Indian nationals with a degree taught in English in India, awarded within the last five years after at least 12 months of study, may be exempt. They also need a Core English mark in Standard XII. For 6.5-level courses that is 75% (CBSE, ISC or CISCE) or 80% (state boards); for 7.0-level courses it is 80%. If you have already submitted a test below your course's requirement, Bath will not use this exemption.

Bath runs pre-sessional English courses, in person or online, for applicants who need to raise their level.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Bath programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
