ULET, pre-sessional and the Student visa
If you have no accepted qualification, ULaw offers its own ULET test. Its pre-sessional page runs a 7-week course to lift you by 0.5 band, at £1,500 taken from a required £6,000 advance tuition payment. Entry is IELTS for UKVI 6.0 (5.5) or PTE Academic UKVI 56 (52) for LLMs, and 6.0 (5.0) or PTE UKVI 56 (43) for business MScs. The page says pre-sessional students on a Student visa need a SELT, while academic IELTS and ULET work for non-visa students. It lists LLMs at 6.5 (6.0) and business MScs at 6.5 (5.5), different again from the entry pages.
For a Student visa, UK Visas and Immigration asks for English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study and B1 below degree level, per gov.uk. At degree level, gov.uk adds, your university can assess your English itself and may ask you to take a different test.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your University of Law programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
