What IELTS score do you need for the University of Missouri?

The Graduate School accepts TOEFL, IELTS Academic (One Skill Retake included), PTE Academic, Cambridge (B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency) and Duolingo. It does not accept TOEFL MyBest scores or TOEFL ITP from other institutions. Scores are valid for two years beyond the test date. Many programs set higher scores, including Health Administration, Journalism, Philosophy and Special Education. TOEFL goes to code 6875. See the Graduate School.

You are exempt if you are a citizen or legal resident of, hold a degree from, or studied for two years in a recognized English-speaking country, such as Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ghana, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Singapore or the UK; India is not on the list. A program can ask the Dean for a waiver when a score falls short, though Mizzou says many requests are not approved. Teaching assistants face a separate spoken-English evaluation.

Undergraduates need Duolingo 110 (parts 100), TOEFL 4.5 or 79, IELTS 6.5 with 6 in each band, Cambridge 180 or PTE 59; Nursing asks for IELTS 7.0 with Speaking 8. IGCSE English First Language B or IB English A 5 also counts. TOEFL Essentials and IELTS Online are not accepted, and India is not on the exempt-country list. Every non-native speaker takes placement exams and may need English support courses; freshmen below the minimums can enter Academic Integration @ Mizzou (AIM). See Mizzou Admissions.
