What PTE score do you need for the University of Northampton?

For degree entry the page lists Pearson PTE Academic. For the pre-sessional academic English (PEP) courses it requires a UKVI-approved SELT and lists PTE Academic UKVI by name.

For comparison, the page asks IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5 for bachelor's degrees and 6.5 with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in the other bands for master's degrees. Research degrees need IELTS 7.0 (6.5), for which the page gives no PTE figure. It does not say whether PTE Academic Online is accepted or give a Pearson institution code.

Northampton may make your offer conditional on passing a pre-sessional academic English (PEP) course. The PTE Academic UKVI entry levels the page gives are 59 in all skills for the 4-week course, 42 to 49 for the 6-week course and 35 to 41 for the 11-week course.

For a Student visa, gov.uk asks for English at CEFR B2 for study at degree level or above and B1 below degree level, and says a university can assess degree-level applicants' English itself and may ask for a different test (gov.uk).
