Pécs Duolingo minimums
From the university's language proficiency requirements for 2026/27.
| Level or programme | Duolingo minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| English-taught programmes | 115 | Meeting the score does not guarantee admission |
| Health Sciences, Engineering and IT, Pharmacy, Medical School | 115 can support the application | English is also assessed by the university's own online test, interview or both |
| MA American Studies, English Studies, Instruction of English as a Foreign Language | Not listed | C1 required; the list of accepted exams for these does not include Duolingo |
How Pécs handles Duolingo scores
The document gives no Duolingo subscores and no validity period. You may be exempt from a test if you finished secondary school in English in one of the listed countries, hold the IB Diploma, hold IGCSE plus A-levels, or completed a degree in English, except for MA programmes in Humanities and Social Sciences.
For comparison, the same document asks for IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5 where it asks for Duolingo 115.

If your Duolingo score is below 115
The document does not describe a conditional offer or pathway for a lower Duolingo score. It lists many other exams, including Hungarian B2 exams such as ECL and BME, LanguageCert and Oxford ELLT, that also meet the requirement.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Pécs programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
