Test rules and how to send your score
The undergraduate page names PTE Academic and PTE Express; neither page mentions PTE Academic Online or PTE Core. The Graduate School treats PTE as one of several scores that may be accepted in place of TOEFL and tells applicants to check with their department. Its two-year limit and ETS code 3919 are stated for TOEFL; the page gives no PTE validity period or sending code.
On the same pages, undergraduates need IELTS 6.5 (7.0 for Pharm.D.) and graduate applicants need IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.5 in every skill.

If you fall short
Neither page describes a conditional admission or pathway route with a PTE entry score. Undergraduates who studied in English may be exempt depending on their English grades and any SAT or ACT scores, decided case by case.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your URI programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
