PTE rules at UTAS

UTAS says all methods of meeting its English requirements are valid for two years, apart from listed country-specific qualifications. Combined test scores are considered case by case, but not for the Bachelor of Education (Primary), the Bachelor of Education (Health and Physical Education) or the Master of Teaching. The page does not mention PTE Academic Online or PTE Core.

In the same table, the undergraduate PTE 50 (42) sits beside IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5, and the postgraduate PTE 50 (50) beside IELTS 6.0 with no band below 6.0.

If your PTE falls short

UTAS accepts its own English for Academic Purposes results (EAP1 for foundation, EAP2 for degrees) and completion of approved ELICOS programs through the University of Tasmania English Language Centre or Navitas English.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UTAS programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
