University English requirements

What PTE score do you need for University of the Pacific?

University of the Pacific asks undergraduates in all majors for a Pearson PTE score of 53. No per-skill minimum is set. The graduate international page lists TOEFL, IELTS and Duolingo but not PTE, so PTE is an undergraduate route at Pacific. Many applicants can skip the test through waivers such as English-medium schooling or SAT and ACT scores.

Test rules and how to send your score

The undergraduate page asks for official results from an accepted test. It does not mention PTE Academic Online, PTE Core, a validity period or a Pearson institution code. Send your score through your Pearson account and confirm receipt with admissions.

On the same table, IELTS is 6.5, TOEFL is 80 (or 4.5 on the 1-6 scale) and Duolingo is 110. So PTE 53 is Pacific's PTE route to the IELTS 6.5 level.

If you fall short

Undergraduates do not need a test if they meet a waiver, for example study at an English-medium institution confirmed by letter, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 570 or higher, ACT Composite 22 or higher, or citizenship of countries such as Ghana or Nigeria. The page does not describe a conditional admission or pathway programme.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Pacific programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
