Credibility interviews, deposit, pre-sessional and the Student visa

Worcester's visas page says "You may need to attend a credibility interview before a CAS is issued", checking that you are a genuine student and that your English is at the right level, and that a CAS can be issued from 6 months before the start. Its fees page says the deposit "of 50% of the tuition fee is non-refundable", though in exceptional circumstances it may refund after deducting £500. Recruitment pauses and January 2027 deadlines are not stated.

The online pre-sessional, run with Oxford International, lasts 6 or 12 weeks. Undergraduates enter from IELTS 5.0 (4.5) for 12 weeks or 5.5 (5.0) for 6 weeks; postgraduates from 5.5 (5.0) or 6.0 (5.5). Fees and dates are not stated on the page.

For a Student visa, UK Visas and Immigration asks for English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study and B1 below degree level, per gov.uk. At degree level, gov.uk adds, your university can assess your English itself and may ask you to take a different test.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Worcester programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
