If Vanderbilt is indicated as a recipient, results are received and posted to your application two days after the test. Undergraduate exams must be sent from a testing agency or high school official directly.

The Graduate School does not accept expired scores or personal copies of score reports. None of the pages read sets Duolingo subscore minimums.

Waivers and English support

First-year applicants whose first language or language of instruction is English do not need to submit a test, nor do applicants scoring above 26 on ACT English or above 630 on SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing. Graduate applicants may be exempt with a qualifying degree from Vanderbilt, the United States or an English-only country. Graduate students wanting more support can take courses at Vanderbilt's English Language Center, and some may be required to take them alongside their programme.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Vanderbilt programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
