TOEFL, visas and pre-sessional English

Old-scale TOEFL iBT is accepted at 87, 92 and 100 for undergraduate Bands A to C, and at 92, 100, 108 and 113 for postgraduate Bands A to D. MyBest scores are not accepted. For Duolingo, you must share results with Warwick through your Duolingo dashboard; a PDF or screenshot will not do.

Undergraduates who need a visa may, depending on circumstances, be asked for a secure English language test such as IELTS for UKVI (Academic) instead of a school exam.

If you miss your band, Warwick's pre-sessional courses can meet the condition. For a postgraduate Band A course, the 6-week course needs IELTS 6.0 (5.5 each) and the 10-week course needs 5.5 (5.0 each).

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Warwick programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
