What PTE score do you need for WVU?

Both pages name PTE Academic and PTE Express; neither mentions PTE Academic Online or PTE Core. WVU does not accept expired scores or scores it cannot verify. Undergraduates receive an email form to submit score verification details within about two weeks of applying, and graduate applicants report verification details in the application or portal. If WVU can verify the score, you do not need to send official results; if not, scores must come directly from the testing agency.

On the same pages, Academic IELTS 6.5 is the equivalent minimum. For graduate teaching assistantships, PTE takers must pass an interview with a WVU administrator, while TOEFL and IELTS takers can qualify on speaking scores.

The undergraduate English Language Pathways Program takes PTE Academic 44 to 52. It lasts one or two semesters and mixes limited general education courses with English courses. WVU Online, Potomac State College and WVU Tech students are not eligible.

Graduate applicants can ask for Intensive English Program conditional admission, but not every programme reviews these applicants and online programmes are excluded. You stay in the IEP until you submit an approved score.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your WVU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
