1

Are there many lakes near where you live?

Not really, to be honest. I live in quite a built-up urban area, so there are mostly just artificial ponds in local parks. If you want to see a proper natural lake, you have to drive a couple of hours out into the countryside.

2

How often do you visit lakes?

Only once or twice a year, usually during bank holiday weekends. My friends and I tend to rent a small wooden cabin by a lake in the north of the country just to escape the hustle and bustle and unwind for a few days.

3

What do people usually do when they visit a lake?

It depends on the season, really. In the summer, people love kayaking, paddleboarding, or having a picnic along the shoreline. Others just prefer to go for a gentle stroll around the perimeter to enjoy the scenery and fresh air.

4

Did you visit any lakes when you were a child?

Yes, I did. My parents used to take my brother and me to a huge reservoir near my grandparents' house every summer. We would spend hours skipping stones across the water and watching the sailing boats drift by.

5

Would you like to live near a lake in the future?

I would love to, definitely. Waking up to a tranquil view of the water every morning sounds idyllic. However, properties right on the waterfront are notoriously expensive, so it might remain just a pipe dream for now.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
