1

Do you like eating seafood?

Yes, absolutely. I am a huge fan of all sorts of shellfish, especially prawns and mussels. I really appreciate the fresh, delicate flavour, and I find it is usually much lighter than red meat, so I do not feel sluggish after having a meal.

2

What kind of seafood is most popular where you live?

Well, white fish like cod and haddock is definitely the staple, mainly because traditional battered fish and chips is still a huge favourite. Having said that, grilled salmon has become really trendy lately as people try to eat a bit healthier.

3

How often do you eat seafood?

Probably once or twice a week. I tend to pick up some fresh fillets from the fishmonger at the weekend to pan-fry for dinner. Midweek, though, I might just toss some tinned tuna into a quick pasta dish.

4

Did you eat much seafood when you were a child?

Not really, to be honest. Growing up quite far inland, my parents rarely bought fresh fish because it was fairly pricey. We mainly had frozen fish fingers as a treat on Friday nights, which I used to love dipping in ketchup.

5

Would you like to learn how to cook more seafood dishes?

Definitely. I am always terrified of overcooking fish and making it rubbery, particularly squid or scallops. I would love to master a proper seafood risotto or a spicy fish curry, as that would really expand my everyday cooking repertoire.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
