1

Do you try to save water at home?

Yes, definitely. I make a conscious effort every day, mainly because bills are quite steep and it is good for the planet. For instance, I always turn the tap off while brushing my teeth, and I usually take short showers rather than deep baths in my flat.

2

Did your parents teach you to save water when you were a child?

They certainly did. Growing up, my mum was very strict about not letting water run needlessly. She always reminded my brother and me to fix dripping taps straight away and made sure we only ran the washing machine with a full load of clothes.

3

What do you think is the easiest way to reduce water waste?

I suppose simply cutting down shower time is the most straightforward habit to change. Spending just five minutes instead of ten under the shower head saves litres of water instantly, without really requiring any fancy equipment or big lifestyle changes.

4

Is water shortage a problem where you live?

Not really on a day-to-day basis, because it rains quite frequently in my home city. However, during recent summer heatwaves, the local council occasionally introduced temporary hosepipe bans to prevent nearby reservoirs from drying up completely.

5

Do you think people will be more careful about water in the future?

I think so, yes. With climate change becoming more noticeable, people are waking up to environmental issues. Plus, smart water meters are becoming common in modern households, which naturally encourages families to monitor consumption more closely to cut costs.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
