What IELTS score do you need for American University?

CAS requires official results and can consider automatic waivers for a bachelor's or higher from an accredited US university, or a bachelor's from an accredited university "where English is the only language of instruction" if you are a citizen of a listed country. The list includes India, alongside countries such as Australia, Canada, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore and the UK. See CAS international applicants. Kogod's MBA waiver is narrower: a bachelor's or master's completed in one of its approved countries, a list that does not include India. Kogod does not grant waivers for English-medium coursework outside those countries, and English certificate programs do not qualify. It may also run extra checks on English communication skills. First-year applicants prove English by curriculum or by test. The test minimums are TOEFL 85 or 4.5, IELTS 6.5, Cambridge English 176, Duolingo 120, PTE 60, LanguageCERT Academic 70 or SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 610. The curriculum route needs four years in a US-accredited, IB, CXC or UK curriculum, or in listed English-speaking countries, taught only in English with no ESL courses; India is not on that list.
