What IELTS score do you need for Bentley University?

You may be able to waive the English Language Test if you are a citizen of a pre-approved English-speaking nation, or completed a bachelor's, master's or higher degree in which all instruction was in English, with documentation of English instruction. The waiver names no countries, so an English-taught degree from India may qualify if you can document it. Conditional admission is not stated.

Non-native English speakers send TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, Cambridge English or the Michigan English Test from the last two years; Bentley does not accept self-reported scores or superscore results. Preferred scores are TOEFL 4.5 with every section at 4.5 on the scale used from 21 January 2026, or 90 with sections at 20 before then; TOEFL Essentials 10; IELTS 7 with no band below 6.5; Duolingo 120–130 with Literacy 120, Conversation 115, Comprehension 125 and Production 100; or Cambridge or MET at C1. The test can be waived with SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 650, ACT reading and English 29, four or more years at a US school without ESL, or English courses in the IB, AP or A-level curricula. Bentley may ask any applicant for proof of English at any point.
