What IELTS score do you need for Bocconi University?

IM Global Experience, Finance Global Experience, IM CEMS MIM, the IM Asia Bocconi-ESSEC double degree and the ESSEC Luxury Management concentration need C1, proved by 23 July 2027. For CEMS, a bachelor's taught entirely in English counts only if it was issued in an English-speaking country, by a CEMS school or by an EQUIS/AACSB-accredited institution.

Bachelor's programmes taught in Italian need only B1, such as IELTS 5.0 with at least 4.5 in each section, or TOEFL iBT 45.

PhD programmes use a separate table: "B2 plus" means IELTS Academic 7.0 with no part below 5.5, and IELTS must be taken no earlier than 17 April 2024.

English certificates are not required to apply or for selection. For the MSc, admitted students must provide proof by the enrolment deadline and no later than 30 June 2027, or enrolment is cancelled.

For English-taught bachelor's programmes, Bocconi's results and enrolment page also accepts its own English test at B2 or higher, native-speaker status, and diplomas awarded in English, naming the IB, British and American qualifications and Indian CISCE or CBSE diplomas. Citizens of majority English-speaking countries such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand automatically meet the requirement.

MSc applicants can use a university qualification or secondary school diploma awarded in English, or a B2-level English exam passed in a university course.
