Is it safe to book PTE through an agent?

Yes, if the agent is authorised. Pearson allows bookings through verified PTE Partners using its Partners Portal, and says they never need your myPTE login and never promise scores. Cheap prices, social media deals or guaranteed scores are warning signs. If a booking is linked to fraud, Pearson may cancel it or revoke your result.

What an authorised agent does

Authorised agents are verified PTE Partners registered with Pearson. They book through the PTE Partners Portal, which is separate from your myPTE account, and give you a booking you can check in your own account (Pearson).

Pearson says an authorised agent will offer the test at the published price or a small discount and will never promise a guaranteed score. It adds that no one can alter your results: there is no manual intervention in publishing scores (Pearson).

What happens if a booking is fraudulent

Pearson may cancel the booking, revoke results, restrict your account and stop future bookings. You may lose fees paid to the agent, and Pearson cannot recover money paid outside official channels. If a revoked score was already shared, Pearson must tell the institution (Pearson). You can report concerns through Pearson's Test Security form.

The safest route is booking yourself in myPTE with your own email and card or an official voucher (Pearson help centre). See how to book PTE.
