How can I pay for the PTE test?

Pearson accepts credit and debit cards and digital wallets such as Google Pay and Apple Pay. In India PayU is also accepted, and in China WeChat Pay and Alipay. Pearson does not accept PayPal. A voucher can pay the test fee but not a rescheduling fee, and voucher payments are not refunded by Pearson.

Accepted payment methods

Pearson's payment policy lists a range of credit and debit cards plus digital payment methods such as Google Pay and Apple Pay. The methods offered at checkout depend on your country, so the final list is the one you see when you book on pearsonpte.com.

Vouchers

A voucher can be applied to the test fee only, not to a rescheduling fee, and Pearson says it cannot refund voucher payments (Pearson). If you need a refund on a voucher booking, go back to the seller you bought it from. Buy vouchers only from Pearson-listed outlets.

Declined payments and chargebacks

Full payment has to be received in the specified currency. If your payment is declined, or later cancelled or charged back by your bank or card provider, Pearson cancels your test appointment or your results (Pearson). If a payment fails, book again with a working method instead of disputing the charge.

What the fee is, and what happens if you change your date

Fees are set per country; see the PTE fee by country and, for India, the PTE fee in India. Rescheduling is free while more than 14 full days remain; cancellation refunds go back to the original card or bank account under the 14- and 7-day rules in PTE reschedule, cancel and refund rules.

Before you pay, check that the name on your booking matches your ID exactly: see PTE ID requirements and how to book PTE.
