How much is the PTE exam fee in India in 2026?

Pearson applies the same rules in every country (cancellation and rescheduling policy, refund policy). You can reschedule free in your myPTE account while more than 14 full calendar days remain, up to six times per booking. Inside 14 days the Reschedule button disappears, so you have to cancel under the refund rules and book again.

Refunds count back from your exact test time. For a test on 17 April at 2:00 PM, Pearson's own example gives 100% back if you cancel before 3 April at 2:00 PM, 50% until 10 April at 1:59 PM, and nothing after that. For illness or a family emergency, you can ask for a free reschedule with the Request Emergency Reschedule form and evidence, no later than 72 hours after your appointment; acceptance is at Pearson's discretion.

Pearson accepts Visa and Mastercard credit or debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and in India also PayU; it does not accept PayPal (payment policy). You must pay in the currency of the country where you sit the test, so a test in India is paid in INR. A parent's card works if the billing details match the cardholder.

Pearson's fees page lists official voucher resellers only for Nigeria and China, not India. In India you either book yourself on pearsonpte.com or through an authorised PTE Partner, who books through Pearson's Partners Portal without needing your myPTE login. Pearson warns against anyone offering tests well below the official fee, deals over social media or guaranteed scores, and says money paid outside official channels cannot be recovered (booking safely). Vouchers cannot be refunded and cannot pay a rescheduling fee.

Choose the test, enter your city, pick a centre and a slot at least 24 hours ahead, then create your myPTE account and pay (Pearson's booking guide). Your name must match your passport exactly, middle names included in Given names; you can correct details up to 3 days before the test, and if they do not match you are turned away with no refund (booking help).

Pearson's fee and policy pages list no separate late-booking fee. If you need to resit, you can book the next test once your scores arrive, up to 12 times in 12 months (retake policy). Each attempt costs INR 18,900, so check your level with a free PTE mock test before you pay.
