Pearson's price finder lists 57 test centres across India, naming Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Mumbai and New Delhi among them (checked 6 October 2026); pick your nearest centre when you book on Pearson's site. Pearson says PTE Academic results typically arrive in two days, and most PTE Core results within two business days (up to five).

Australia's thresholds are per skill for tests from 7 August 2025: Competent 47 listening, 48 reading, 51 writing, 54 speaking; Proficient 58 / 59 / 69 / 76 for 10 points; Superior 69 / 70 / 85 / 88 for 20. Canada does not accept PTE Academic for Express Entry: PTE Core CLB 7 is listening 60, reading 60, writing 69, speaking 68. UK visas need 59 in each skill for B2.
PTE or IELTS from India?
On price they are almost level: ₹18,900 for PTE against ₹19,000 for IELTS, and PTE Academic UKVI (₹18,900) undercuts IELTS for UKVI (₹19,250). IELTS reaches more towns (77 cities against 57 PTE centres) and offers a One Skill Retake for ₹12,650. For Canada, book PTE Core or IELTS General Training, not PTE Academic. For Australia and the UK both work; take a scored mock of each and book the one you score higher on.
