Where can you take IELTS and PTE in Ambala?

IDP's booking form on 9 October 2026 listed IELTS on computer sessions in Ambala on 41 dates between 12 October and 31 December 2026 (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and Writing on Paper on 51 dates (1:00 PM to 4:00 PM), both at INR 19,000.

It also listed IELTS for UKVI sessions in Ambala from 2 November. Ambala is not on IDP's UKVI-approved centre list, so confirm with IDP that the venue is approved before paying, or book a lab on the list such as Chandigarh, Karnal or Patiala.

IDP's Ambala city page showed no paper dates on 9 October 2026; the sessions above appear only in the booking form, so check there.

One Skill Retake is marked at IDP's permanent labs, so Ambala test takers usually retake at Chandigarh, Karnal or Patiala. Life Skills runs in Chandigarh. Kurukshetra is in IDP's directory but was not a bookable test city.

For PTE, the nearest other centres are HCL Tech - Kurukshetra, Budha Group of Institution in Karnal, and the six tricity centres in Chandigarh and Mohali.

There is no local price: IDP and Pearson each charge one fee across India, so Ambala costs the same as Delhi or Kerala. IELTS figures are from IDP India's fee page and match the prices IDP's booking form showed for Ambala-area sessions on 9 October 2026; PTE figures are from Pearson's price finder. Refund and transfer rules are in our IELTS fee in India and PTE fee in India guides.

IELTS: on IDP India's site choose Register for IELTS, then the test (IELTS on Computer, IELTS Writing on Paper, IELTS for UKVI or Life Skills), the module, and Ambala as the test city; the dates and session times shown there are the live ones (how to register). You can also register in person at an IDP branch or registration partner. Upload a clear colour scan of your passport when you book and bring the original on test day. Speaking can fall on a different day, up to 7 days before or after the written test.

PTE: on pearsonpte.com choose the test first (Academic, Academic UKVI, Core or Home), then type Ambala or the nearest centre city; only centres with slots for that test appear, and slots open at least 24 hours ahead (Pearson's booking guide). Enter your name exactly as on your passport, middle names in Given names; details can be corrected up to 3 days before the test, and a mismatch on the day means no test and no refund.

Results: IDP says most IELTS on computer results arrive within 2 days, Writing on Paper results after 7 calendar days, and Life Skills results within seven days. Pearson says most PTE Academic results arrive within two business days, occasionally up to five.
